Junpei Tamaki was born in Japan in 1986. After graduating at Tama Art University in 2010, he worked as an interior designer at the Department of Environmental Design Work.
One year later he was one of the finalists of the International Furniture Design Competition Asahikawa 2011. Furthermore his modern furniture collection was shown at the international design week “Salone del Mobile 2013” in Milan.
One of Junpei Tamaik’s latest works is the chair “2450” – an extraordinary product made of 2450 5mm acrylic sticks. This chair depicts the basic idea of Tamaki’s design concept: The power of weakness. Although every stick is very fragile, it turns into a strong structure, assembling the frail components in an architectural structure.
