Annekathrin

Annekathrin / Friday… Three Weeks ago I spent a week in Paris to show a good friend of mine this wonderful city. We stayed in La Villette, 10th arrondissement, close to Canal St.Martin and enjoyed the neighborhood.
On Sunday evening we went to the service at Notre Dame where they remembered today the victims of last Friday. I am thinking of all the pain for the families and friends but we should look ahead and support the unique spirit of the city and come back as often as possible.

LunaLuna / When Facebook asked if I would like to change my profile picture in support of France and the people of Paris I thought yes! I wish to show my solidarity for all those who have been killed for no other reason than other intolerance, cruelty and pure hate. But then I took a moment to think in what kind of world we currently live in and in what kind of world we want to live in and do I want to live in. And I asked ask myself ‘when did I begin to close my eyes – save in Europe – and to forget all the other crimes and victims of terror which were only worth a side note? And where is their Facebook filter?

Lebanon: November 14th. Twin bomb attacks injuring more than 200 and killing at least 43.
Syria: Death toll: 250 000+
Nigeria, Kenya, Burundi, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq,…

We cannot bury our heads in the sand anymore, but support each other, give encouragement and show responsibility, not to France only, but to our fellow human beings, to people in need, to everybody who values it. It’s time to stand up for tolerance, for humanity, for peace. It should not be kill and be killed, but live and let live! This is the world I would love to live in. #‎warisnottheanswer‬
